Join us for a day of creativity, gratitude, and joy as we celebrate the Main Street Mural and the community members who made it possible!
What started as just a seed an idea, has blossomed into an incredible three-story collaborative artwork on the wall behind our building.
In May, Evanston Masonry removed the old mural and prepped the wall for something new to be created.
Over the last month, Oscar Joyo, Hope Washinushi and the Open Studio Team have been transforming the wall from something that had fallen into disrepair to a vibrant mural that reflects the resilience, compassion, and strength of our community.
The mural is days away from being complete, and we can’t wait to celebrate its completion with you.
We hope you’ll join us on September 19th from 1pm-3pm for a very special community celebration. We’ll have a ribbon cutting ceremony, art activities for all ages, music, and treats!
So many of you shared your time, creativity, energy, and support to help make this project possible, and we hope to see you there.
May the mural serve as a beautiful reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together.
