Art Therapy

A colorful drawing showing a person with a cheerful face and long hair, and multiple handprints with faces and speech bubbles. The scene appears playful and imaginative.

Our therapeutic mission is rooted in creative wellness with our Art Therapy staff who are trained and licensed in clinical counseling and certified in art therapy. Using mindful approaches of individual encouragement and community well being, we tailor our sessions to the needs of the individual. We are client centered and rooted in a strength based, trauma-informed, process-oriented, humanistic lens; one that focuses on the needs of the whole individual. Whether it is a young person in need of coping skills and anger management techniques, someone looking for a creative and restorative emotional outlet or family members looking for healthy communication skills, we offer a warm, welcoming and open environment to guide individuals and families in processing experiences and exploring the self in a creatively therapeutic way. We offer services to adults, youth and families. We do not currently offer couples counseling.

Art making is an emotional outlet; a place to process and explore experiences, thoughts, ideas, relationships and feelings. It has the potential to act as a conduit for self esteem, trauma processing, communication skills, self acceptance, personal growth, anger management and healthy perspectives, among others. We see each individual as a unique and whole person capable of holistic creation.

Sessions will either be with our on-staff Art Therapist, Emma Zbiral-Teller, or one of our clinical interns.
