Janet Beals
Janet Beals is the Chief Development Officer at Gads Hill Center, a 109-year-old family resource center in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood, where she leads a team of professionals who raise $1 million in private funds each year. She lives in Roger Park with her husband Gil Orejudos. Gil and Janet have three grown children and two grandchildren. Janet has an MBA from Simmons College in Boston, MA.
Janet discovered the Open Studio a decade ago during a career change, and has used the process ever since to help her make or weather key life changes such as getting married, buying a house, making career decisions, and, most recently, creating a financial plan for retirement.
Janet has been Board President and Chair of Strategic Planning for the Studio, and facilitates adult classes on Tuesday evenings. |

Cal Calvird
Cal has enjoyed facilitating adult OSP classes and workshops since 2002. He has a MA in Interdisciplinary Art from Columbia College Chicago and is licensed clinical massage therapist (LMT). A glass artist for many years before discovering the Open Studio Project, he credits the process for expanding his view of art making and his current work ranges from photo installation to concrete casting. Cal has maintained a studio at the Greenleaf Art Center in Rogers Park since 2000 and has exhibited his artwork regionally.

Jan Ellenstein
Jan has been making art fun for children (including her own) for the last 30 years as well as organizing Arts Festivals for children including Evanston's own Ethnic Arts Festival and First Night. |

Barbara Goldberg
Barbara Goldberg discovered Open Studio Project when it first came to Evanston and, upon reading its mission, knew it was where she belonged. She has an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Involved in the arts for over 30 years, she has worked with all levels. At the Art Institute of Chicago, she wrote teacher manuals, ran workshops, and helped teachers integrate art into their classrooms. She has worked with women and children at a shelter for battered women using art and writing as a means of expression. Her artwork has been exhibited in numerous art galleries in Illinois and Wisconsin. |

Susette Payne
Susette has been a participant and facilitator at the Open Studio for five years and is the current board president. She has a Bachelor of Arts in dance and choreography from Mills College, California, and is the mother of five adult children. After studying Jung's writing and Jungian dream work at the Jung Institute in Evanston, she is currently enrolled in Arnold Mindell's School of Process Oriented Therapy. |
