Leah Feldman's work is influenced by Rangoli, a daily Mandala practice traditionally done by women in Northeast India. It is also influenced by the distinctive quilt patterns developed by the women of Gees Bend. These quilters' compositions evoke the "Sacred Geometry" that also exists behind all Mandala creation. Leah creates paper "quilt" compositions filled with her version of Rangoli "script" and infused with meaning based on the use of numerology and color themes connected to the body Chakras and Chi energy.
